OK, so maybe I should upgrade. How much should I spend?

– Many people believe that good headphones cost an arm and a leg – this is not the case. – There are several very good-sounding headphones that can be purchased for $30 to $50 and will significantly out-perform the sound of the ear-bud ‘phones that came with your MP3 player.

– Like speakers, one can spend literally thousands of dollars for a pair of headphones, many of which are used in research work where the ultimate accuracy is required. – However, it has been our experience that some truly great-sounding (which in our world translates into ‘accurate’) headphones can be had for $200.

– Yes, $200 is a fair amount of money, but if great sound is important to you, then $200 or so really isn’t that much.
