Mark Alan Jay :
Founder, Principal Engineer, Podcast Host & Creator
- Mark holds a B. S. in Electrical Engineering from The University of Hartford, West Hartford, Connecticut. He has worked in the fields of acoustics, noise and vibration, sound quality assessment, noise, and vibration since 1991, primarily in the automotive sector, with a concentration on perceptual audio (i.e. binaural), a technique that can be found in almost all virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) content.
His involvement with live recording dates back to 1982, but since 1990 his primary recording focus has been on binaural recording. Recently, he also incorporated Ambisonics into his skill set for use in virtual and augmented reality. In addition to live recording and music production, he also specializes in audio archiving and restoration.
- Mark has published numerous peer-reviewed technical papers on sound quality, signal processing, noise, vibration, and human perception for the Society of Automotive Engineers (S.A.E.), Institute of Noise Control Engineering (I.N.C.E.), A.T.A. et al in North America and abroad. He has also chaired or co-chaired technical sessions at the S.A.E. and INCE international congresses and symposia.
- He is co-inventor listed on U.S. Patent Number 7,064,506 (System and Method for Power Seat Motor Control), as well as U.S. Patent Number 7,064,506 (Acoustically Tuned Seating Assembly) and German Patent Number DE10354825 / Great Britain Patent Number GBR 2396475 (Biofidelic Seating Apparatus with Binaural Acoustical Sensing).
